Dinner

We all arrived, some early, some not so early!

I can't believe its already Thursday! It would be 3:52 am U.S. time and 8:30 am our time.  Everyone is still asleep so I thought I would try posting something.  We have been having the best time.  As I said to Ann if we had been having a horrible time, we would be saying, 'it's only Wednesday!' but we have had great craic every day!  Here is a picture of our first evening at a restaurant called Camillo's in Almancil.  More to follow.

Night Before I leave

Well here I am, the night before I leave.  My list of last minute chores for tomorrow morning is complete. The bag is packed (it has been for weeks) except for the toiletries and   I have printed out my boarding passes!  What's left? Nothing, just sitting back and relaxing....can't wait!  Its a melatonin night for sure!

Well here we are less than a week to go.  The emails have been flying between some of us.  I have our tickets ordered for Billy Elliott for the London leg of our trip.  Today I will be ironing all the clothes that have been in the suitcase for over a month!  I think I am the only one packed, sounds like Sharon packed the night before she left!  Sharon will be warming the beach chairs for us and kindly picking us all up at the airport because of course no flight is coming in at the same time!  I hear dinner will be at 8:00 pm that first night.  I leave at 3:30 to fly to Charlotte, NC then catch the Gatwick flight at 8:00 pm arriving at 7:15 am.  Margaret will already be there waiting for me at the British Airways counter and then we jump on the plane for Faro at 10:00 am arriving at 1:00 pm, Portugal time.  I think that works out to be over 24 hours of airport and flytime for me and Margaret!  It will be well worth it.

Four Weeks tonight and we will be sipping Port in Val de Lobo

I created this space so that Sharon, Jo,  Ann, Margaret, Mary, Diane and I will be able to share our trip to Portugal with anyone who wants to follow our fun on our second trip together.  Our first trip to Spain was in 2005.  Sharon was kind enough to invite us to share her holiday with us in Portugal and her lovely time share in Val de Lobo, Algarve, Portugal. 

Today, I unpacked and repacked my bag trying to decide what to take and what I need to buy!  Margaret, Mary and I are spending a week researching family history, theatre and pub grub in London before heading back home so we need two seasons of clothes, tough to so with only 50 pounds!

Now I am going to forward this on to the rest of the girls to add how they are preparing for our trip.
